People hear "fuel" and think gasoline, maybe home heating, maybe the little ritual at the pump. That misses the uglier part. Diesel is not just another transportation fuel. It is the heavy work fuel. How much of your confidence in "the system still works" is really confidence that diesel is still flowing to the boring brutal machines nobody celebrates?
If those answers are ugly, then the problem is not just fuel cost. It is diesel dependence.
That means the posture here is heavy system realism, not consumer level fuel talk.

Understand that freight, farming, construction, and backup power all get shakier when diesel does.
